Tuesday 18th August was an incredibly emotional and rewarding day for everyone at B.S. Entwistle, as we had the privilege of presenting a specialised pushchair to an amazing young boy, Kian Haslam.
Kian is one of only 354 children worldwide diagnosed with CDK13 syndrome, a rare condition that can bring a range of complex challenges. In Kian’s case, these include learning and feeding difficulties, hypertonia, pica, and a heart condition known as an atrial septal defect.
Kian remains under regular hospital care and may require heart surgery next year.
As Kian is non-verbal and tires easily, getting out and about as a family can sometimes be difficult. The new specialised pushchair will help give Kian and his family greater freedom to enjoy days out, explore the outdoors and, most importantly, make precious memories together.
We were extremely proud to be able to support Kian through The Entwistle Foundation, our own charitable initiative created to support selected good causes, charities and organisations within the local community.
Alongside providing direct support to families and charitable causes, the Foundation also works closely with a number of local schools and colleges, helping us to give something back to the communities that have supported our businesses over the years.
None of this would be possible without the continued support of the people around us. We would therefore like to say a heartfelt thank you to our fantastic team, business associates and clients. Your ongoing support enables The Entwistle Foundation to make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to LB Telecom and Adana Construction for their generosity and support in helping make this particular donation possible.
It was a very special moment for everyone involved, and we hope Kian and his family enjoy many happy adventures together with their new pushchair.
